Sarah Beth is here!!!!

Sarah Beth was born Tues, May 12, 2009 at 5:42 pm! Sean drove me to the hospital last Tuesday at 6:30am to be induced. My doctor came in at around 8:00am and broke my water and the pitocin was started. I dilated to 5 around noon and was given an epidural. At that point my labor stalled. My doctor came in at 4:20p and told me if I didnt show any signs of progression w/ in the next hour she would be doing a C-Section. I prayed that I would progress b/c I did NOT want to have a c-section. When my doctor came back in a 5:20 nothing had changed. At that point a good friend had shown up and Sean called another friend on the phone so that we could have some "girl" time before I went in. That time was cut short by the staff trying to prep me. I was wheeled out of my room and Sean was told to sit in a holding area until they were ready to start the procedure. It seemed like forever before they let him come back in. Within just a couple of mins of starting the c-section Sarah Beth was here!

I got to see her above the sheet and taken over to a station where they started to clean her up. Sean got to hold her first and then she was brought over to me. Shortly after that I was taken back to recovery. At that point most of the rest of the night is a blur. Wed morning I got to really spend some wonderful time w/ my beautiful daughter and husband. B/c of the c-section I stayed in the hospital until Fri morning. This past week has gone by so fast. I cant believe she is here.

It seems like just yesterday that Sean and I were crying out to the Lord for children, then praying that I would have a healthy pregnancy. We are still in awe and life seems a little surreal at the moment. I know that the Lord is a Lord of miracles and very thankful for the miracle He blessed Sean and I with. I cant wait to see what the Lord does through Sarah Beth and our family! Sarah Beth's first picture!

Baby News

I went to the OB yesterday (5/8) and she has decided to induce me on Tues (5/12)!!! I have to be at the hospital by 6:30AM to get checked in. Sean and I will try to post updates on facebook as much as we can on Tues. My mom is on her way here right now.

Sean and I are beyond excited and nervous all at the same time. We thought we would have a least one more week before Sarah Beth makes her appearance. We have a couple of last minute things to take care of this weekend. I also have to have all of my end of year paperwork done by the end of the day on Monday. It is going to be a busy weekend, but I am hoping that I can get a decent amount of sleep before Tuesday.

Also, Sean will be in his regular Chic-Fil-A on Monday night, but will not be at his other 2 restaurants on Tues or Thurs this week. (He does have subs for the 2 nights he is missing). Sean has also been given next Sunday (5/17) off from leading children's worship. Starting Mon night of next week, he will be back on his regular schedule and you can take the kiddos to go see him like you normally do.

We will keep you posted as we can.

To all the mother's reading this: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!

New Belly Pics

Here are belly pics for those of you who have been asking. This was taken at my shower hosted by Susan Mayo on 3/7/09 (just shy of 7 months)
This was taken Easter Sunday (5/12/09) almost 8 months

This was taken at Kara Loy's Shower on 4/18/09. We are both 8 months pregnant! She is expecting a little girl, Lily Grace, on May 18th and I am expecting my little girl, Sarah Elizabeth, on May 17th. Even though Kara is due the day after me, I expect that since this is her 2nd child she will go before me.

I look in the mirror and see that my belly has indeed expanded and I still cant believe it sometimes. I feel very blessed that in just 4 short (or long) weeks that I will be holding my little girl in my arms. My husband, family and friends have been a huge blessing and encouragement to me through this pregnancy. I dont know where I would be w/ out them. I am grateful that the Lord has put so many wonderful people in my path!

I would also like to congratulate Greg, Susan and Carter Mayo on the birth of their beautiful little boy/ brother, Griffin Ryder. Griffen was born Thurs April 16th at 3:17p. He weighed 7 lbs, 4 and 1/2 oz and is 20 and 1/2 inches long.

Jan Baby Update

On Sun (2/1) we will 15 WEEKS away from the birth of our precious blessing Sarah Beth! We are beyond excited. Sean and I are in the process of signing up for birthing classes through Baptist right now. We are also in the process of house hunting (which we could use some major prayers for this whole process at this point)! Please continue to pray that our precious daughter will continue to grow and develop like she should.

The 19 week ultrasound of Sarah Beth! The bedding for the nursery. It is the Tiddliwinks Lady Bug Collection from Target.

The stoller we picked out at Wal-Mart. We also have the matching pac-n-play and high chair.

Gatlinburg Nov 08

I am almost 15 weeks! It seems crazy to me at times that I have made it this far. Sean and I feel so blessed to know that in six months our little jellybean will be here. My next doctor's appointment is Dec 2. We are hoping that my doctor will allow us to schedule the big ultrasound the week of Christmas. (I will be 19 weeks Christmas Eve). We dont really care if it is a boy or girl as long as the baby is healthy.

Sean and I spent 3 nights in Gatlinburg! We realized this may be our last vacation before little Jellybean makes and appearance and we had a great time. We went to several places we visited back in March and then some new places we had not been before.

Sean built a fire in the fireplace all 3 nights we were in Gatlinburg. Another view of our room. This is our second trip to Gatlinburg and we have stayed at the Rocky Water Motor Inn both times. We love it. Its not a fancy hotel but it works for us. Not to mention that all of the rooms in this hotel overlook a stream.
